Anti-wrinkle injections are a safe cosmetic procedure that target the wrinkles and expression lines on your face caused by repeated muscle contractions. We most commonly treat the frown lines between the eyebrows, the horizontal lines that run across the forehead, and the crow’s feet around the outer eyes. At Timeless Smiles we use Anti-Wrinkle medicine injections to relax the muscle. Anti-Wrinkle medicine uses the same active ingredient as Botulinum Type A. It’s a simple quick procedure – the results are immediate, and in conjunction with active skin treatments, fine lines will disappear.

The injection, using a very fine needle, blocks signals from the nerves to the muscle. It effectively paralyses facial muscles (temporarily – up to 4 months), in order to soften the wrinkle.

Q: What does the procedure entail and is it painful?
The process takes about 15-30 minutes following a facial analysis and discussion on your desired outcomes.
Anti-Wrinkle medicine is injected with a very tiny needle. It is so quick and safe that you can immediately return to your daily activities (and no one will know you have had it done!)
Most patients say it feels just like quick little pinches although everyone is different. Our patients usually say, “Is that all?”
After the procedure, mild swelling, bruising, redness, or tenderness may appear but rest assured it is temporary.
Q: How soon will I see any result and how long does it last?
Noticeable improvements immediately and softening of frown lines continues for about 2 weeks.
Results last 3-4 months although optimal results can be maintained over a longer period of time through regular repeated treatments.

Consultation and treatments are personally undertaken by Dr Patel who has been trained by the Australasian Academy of Dento-Facial Aesthetics (AADFA) for skin rejuvenation including dermal fillers, Anti-Wrinkle medicine, micro-needling and skin resurface treatments.
As a dentist, Dr Patel has spent most of his professional life working around your face. He has a detailed knowledge of your head anatomy, from your chin to your forehead, as well as all the soft tissues around your mouth. Plus, as a dentist, Dr Patel gives more daily injections then pretty much any other profession, so it makes perfect sense to combine some facets of the cosmetic and dental industries.
Q: Are there any side effects
Anti-Wrinkle medicine has some side effects that are RARE among patients and not permanent. There can be a slight headache, throat irritation or some minor bruising which is easily covered up with makeup.
Q: Are there any after-care instructions?
After your treatment Dr Patel will go through aftercare advice in order to maximise your treatment benefits.
You can resume normal activities, drive yourself home or return to work immediately after the treatment. We do strongly recommend you avoid strenuous exercise, exposure to extensive sun or heat, and alcohol for 24 hours.
As with any type of injection there may be some slight bruising afterwards. Makeup may be applied.
The results directly after the treatment should not be seen as the final results. This is because over the following few days the results will continue to improve.
